Had a follow up weight check today and both babies are over their birth weight! At 13 days old, no less!! Matthew is 5.9 (5.7 at birth) and Sarah is 5.13 (5.11). I am so relieved. We're going to back off the formula supplements for now. I will probably start pumping in the next couple of days to build up a nice supply for the occasional bottle. Our pedi suggested that if they start cluster feeding a bunch in the evening that I could skip a feed and DH can give them a bottle. I'd much rather it be breastmilk, so we'll probably head out to rent a pump tomorrow.
She also said that as far as milestones we can ignore their early arrival and they can now be treated as full term babies. The title says it all - woo to the hoo!

Great news!
J
"Woo to the Hoo"....You are SOOO funny!!!!! I am so glad the sweet babies are doing so well. Thanks for the update and I hope ya'll are able to get some sleep.
Wonderful news...the wonder twins are living up to their name!
Wahoo! Go little ones. :-)
That is awesome news!!
Congratulations!
I don't know if you like recommendations, so ignore these if you like, but sometimes it helps to know what other folks are doing.
We use Similac Neosure to fortify my breastmilk for our boys - recommended by our NICU.
And if you have to buy a pump, I just got the Avent Isis, and it's as good as a pump can be. :)
Go Wonder Twins! I know all too well the sense of relief that comes when those teeny little numbers on the scale start creeping up. It's a major achievement. You go, mama!
That's fantastic!! I think that they were a great size when they were born (given they were twin preemies), which is impressive in and of itself. But now that their weight is up and they can be considered full term. That's awesome. Definitely a cause for celebration!!!
Sorry about that horrible rash. What annoys me is that it sounds like you haven't gotten the sympathy that you deserve!!
XOXOXO
Thank you for commenting on my blog -- I look forward to keeping up with your babies -- I can kind of see what you were talking about with the semi look alikes -- Edie (when she was smaller) sort of looks like Matthew (is that what you meant???) sam
yeah the lovely breast pump has come in handy for me... it has actually been my right hand woman these past 11 weeks. Make sure you get a good quality double pump because they are so much more efficient and time becomes VERY VALUABLE over the next few weeks --- sam
