Graduation Day!

Yep, I'm released! I got a little gift bag with a pregnancy book and some massage oil (??). The babies (as you can see below) are gorgeous. In the picture, one has a slightly detached head, but I'm sure this is the week when it fuses to the rest of the body, right? And if not, I'm sure will come in handy in low-ceilinged rooms. Still...detached heads or no, cute, right?

Now it's OB time! I have an appt for mid November, which seems like a LONG time from now.

This weekend we're going to the SF Parents of Multiples consignment sale. I don't know if we'll actually buy anything, but it will be fun to kind of get in the spirit of things. Ok, now that I think about it, I'm gonna have to buy something.

I'm still really enjoying my job. The tequila party is now a bowling party, which is a good thing. Taking the emphasis off the booze will help a little. I don't need that to be my coming out party. I really don't know when to make that happen. If I don't start feeling better it's going to start being obvious. Plus, I had the first chance to use my new Bella Band today! I wore some pants that I could have buttoned, but feeling as ill as I have been, it just felt gross to do so. But with the BB, voila! So great. Other than feeling kind of permanently nauseated, I also get a slammin' headache every night right about 4 or 5. My boob soreness is pretty much gone, and the tiredness that washes over me around mid-afternoon is pretty easily fixed with the walk to BART and then home from where I get off. I do go to bed like a pioneer, though at 9 or so and HATE waking up. Usually I'm a morning person, so it feels kind of weird to be lying there so useless in the morning. But I'm sure this will pass, and even though it goes w/o saying, I am NOT complaining!!!

So that's about it from the House of the Wonder Twins! Happy Weekend to all!

Yipee, wahoo, and yahoo! Thrilled with the good news. Even though having a detached head would be a cool party trick, I'm not sure it's all that practical. If you're talking about the baby on the right, it might be the yolk sac. Did the u/s tech mention that or was she cool with the Halloween-themed headless horseman thing? :-)

Sorry - gotta give my assvice on the comment from MIL. Please note - I am NOT religious, and neither is my hubby, and we did IVF, so we've sorta had these sort of comments too from religious friends/family...

That being said, I read her msg differently... I read it that she feels you did IVF and don't believe in religion, which are both true as you said, and that she expects you wouldn't give the "credit" to God for their creation. But, she will pray for them anyways, because she still feels that they are God's creation, regardless of the path he took to get them to you.

I've got family that basically said the same thing, and I thought "that's cool, it couldn't hurt".

Maybe she wasn't trying to belittle you or your efforts, but instead to give props to God. Some people need ALL good things to have come from God.

Just my 2 cents, which could help with relations with the in-laws.

BTW - I've gotten the parasite comment too. Technically it is true, but it isn't all that funny, you are way right.

Congrats on graduating....and on those beautiful little (headless) babies ;)

And sorry about the in-laws, they sound like a piece of work!

beautiful! are you about 8 weeks?

yeah, your mil's attitude is why i don't think we will be telling some people about our ivf journey. it's none of their g-d business anyway!!

What a gorgeous photo! Getting all their bits into the same 2D plane can be a bitch eh? especially when there are 2!!!
I thought when I got pregnant people would stop saying things that irked me (either they would stop saying them or I would stop being irked). But it never ends. Sorry.

The twins look great to me - headless or otherwise. I'm so happy for you!

Let your MIL's comments wash over you. Maybe she didn't mean it how you heard it?

I think we'll always have people say stuff that hurts. Sort of goes with the territory.

They look gorgeous! And I'm sure the "detached head" look is just the way the picture was taken ;) I'm not all that experienced with sonars, my apologies if I'm sounding stupid! :)

Detached head thing is hilarious... well, in that f*d up kind of way:-)

And parasites - ack! I'm surprised you didn't shoot them.

Beautiful picture! So happy to hear that things are going so well and that you have graduated. :)

Sorry to hear that the MIL is missing a filter. It feels at times that some people are just compelled to give their $.50 worth of advice/thoughts/opinions, no matter what the cost to the recipient.

Glad the wonder twins are doing well. J and I are not very religious either. J was raised baptist and has since become and atheist. I do pray (a lot) in some ways IF has made em more religious. All that being said I don't think the MIL was trying to snarky. Not knowing her irl I took it the way newly dawn took it. Best of Luck,
-Anla

OH, so cute! YAY to the wonder twins. Congratulations on tour graduation!
My boss asked me the other day, how's the little alien? I told him that I don’t like that term. I don’t like nicknames, especially something like parasites or alien, WONDER TWINS fits them perfectly!

Beautiful little munchkins!! Glad that everything is still going well with the wonder twins!!

They look perfect. I am sorry that your MIL rubs you the wrong way. You have so much to be thankful for, let her annoying comments go in one ear and out the other.

Your MIL won't care one bit how your babies were conceived once they are born!

woo-hoo to graduation and good lookin' babies!

Maybe the detachable head is part of this one's Wonder Twins Powers (henceforth known as WTP).

Maybe you should take one day of visitation rights away from MIL for each raw comment she makes?

Congratulations on your graduation! I am thrilled for you.

I wish I had gotten here earlier. I am glad to hear you have graduated, but where are you at now? I don't see a recent update. Are you alright?

Hi! Congratulations... The round thing you see with the left baby is not the head, it is the yolk sac, so don't worry about it. I am 100% sure it is... :D
